August 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Understanding the role that language plays in supporting children’s mental health.

Presented by: Vibhuti Jethava – Speech-Language Pathologist

Language plays an important role in the mental health of children and youth. It can be difficult, however, to identify when our kids are experiencing language difficulties. These difficulties may be masked by social anxiety, disobedience, behaviour difficulties and/or inattention. In this webinar, York Hills’ Speech-Language Pathologist Vibhuti Jethava will share the signs of language difficulties and how these connect to children’s mental health. Caregivers will be invited to consider theirs own child’s/youth’s language needs, and will gain concrete strategies to create a communication and emotion-friendly environment to support their mental well being.
