Day Treatment Programs

Children and youth ages 4 to 18 years are referred to our day treatment programs when they have mental health needs that severely interfere with their ability to function at school and the school board has exhausted its ability to meet their needs.
This service supports by:

Providing an alternative to school placement for students, meeting their academic and mental health needs.

Offering counselling sessions to children, youth and their families.

Helping children or youth to develop greater skills, self-awareness, and self-regulation.

Working with the whole family to improve relationships and patterns at home.

Improving a child or youth’s functioning at home, school, and in the community, so that they can return and be successful in a regular school environment.

Providing case management with other providers and the school boards.

How do I access the service?

Any family can request day treatment services directly from the agency. However, all families are encouraged to work with their child or youth’s school to request an assessment for day treatment. Referrals may be also be made by other community service providers and professionals.
