Children’s Mental Health Professional Service

Children and youth (ages 0-18 years) and families who are involved with the York Region Children’s Aid Society (YRCAS) are eligible for the York Hills Children’s Mental Health Professional (CMHP) Service.

This service is designed to provide children’s mental health consultation and capacity building within the child welfare community. The intent of this collaborative service is to enhance the clinical capacity of child welfare staff through the provision of direct clinical consultation to staff and families involved with the York Region Children’s Aid Society. The service consists of consultation with YRCAS staff and a brief service consisting of 1-3 meetings, involving YRCAS staff and families.

This service supports by:

Providing in-service planning and capacity building through training opportunities.

Collaborating and consulting on the presenting strengths and needs of families, and assists with service planning with the family and/or youth.

Identifying appropriate services available to the family.
