This service supports by:
Offering a number of weekly programs designed for students in York Region schools. One-time parent workshops designed to support family mental health literacy and student well-being.
Providing the community partners and caregiver with presentations including understanding our services, and mental health literacies.
Hosting information booths at community events allows us to share information related to children’s mental health to larger audiences.
These school based programs include:
Making a Difference
A program designed to help students recognize bullying behaviours, as well as develop and use assertive responses to bullying situations. The program is designed to empower students to make a positive difference. Offered over 7 weeks, in 45-60 minute sessions it is designed for students in grades 4-6.
Be Cybersmart
This program is designed to teach children how to be a responsible cyber citizen. Students will learn strategies for smart responsible internet use, including password safety, safe talk online and how to effectively report cyber bullying. This program is delivered over 6 weeks in 45-60 minute sessions and recommended for students in grades 5-8.
Taking Charge of Me
A program designed to teach students assertive strategies to self-regulate and manage their emotions, including anxiety, anger and frustration, when dealing with conflicts and difficult situations. Offered over 6 weeks, in 45-60 minute sessions it is designed for students in grades 4-6.
Be-YOU-tiful
This program was created to empower students to have a positive body image and self esteem, as well as develop strategies to enhance and strengthen their self-perceptions.
This program is offered over 6 weeks, in 60 minute sessions, for grades 6 to 8.

Understanding Big Emotions and Behaviour at Home
Supports parents in understanding emotional regulation, stress responses, and practical ways to reduce daily conflict and escalation.
Supporting Attention and ADHD in Elementary-Aged Children
Explores how attention develops, why routines matter, and strategies to support focus, transitions, and learning.
Screens, Sleep, and Emotional Regulation
Looks at how screen use affects sleep, mood, and behaviour in younger children, and how families can set limits that reduce power struggles.
Parenting Your Anxious Child
Supports caregivers in understanding how anxiety shows up in younger children and offers practical ways to respond that reduce escalation, support regulation, and build confidence over time.
Supporting Neurodivergent Children at Home
Provides practical guidance on regulation, sensory needs, predictability, and partnering with schools to support learning and well-being.
Available Parenting Workshops for Grades 9 to 12
Building and Maintaining Connection with Teens
Supports parents in strengthening communication, maintaining boundaries, and staying connected during adolescence.
Supporting Attention and ADHD in Adolescents
Focuses on executive functioning, routines, motivation, and reducing conflict around school demands and independence.
Screens, Sleep, and Emotional Well-Being for Teens
Explores how technology use affects teen sleep, mood, attention, and relationships, with practical strategies parents can apply.
Low Mood, Withdrawal, and Motivation in Adolescents
Helps parents recognize signs of low mood, respond supportively, and understand when additional support may be helpful.
Supporting Neurodivergent Teens at Home
Addresses regulation, communication, transitions, and supporting teens’ increasing independence.
