KUUMBA

Kuumba (koo-OOM-bah) is a counselling and therapy program offered through York Hills Centre for Children, Youth and Families.

Kuumba is a specialized mental health and wellness program for children, youth (ages 0-25), families and caregivers from the Black and Black- identifying community that provides a safe place centering culture,  compassion and empowerment.

 

This service supports by providing:

Mental health support for African, Black and Caribbean children, youth (ages 0-25) and families in York Region and South Simcoe. 

Groups and workshops available for children, caregivers and professionals.

Safe, respectful and culturally affirming care 

Get access to culturally specific resources in your community

We also offer mental health crisis support through our new partnership  with Southlake Health in the communities of Bradford, Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury & Georgina.
