Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) helps children and youth (18 years and under) who are struggling with the emotional, behavioural, or social effects of trauma. Caregivers are an important part of the process and are actively involved in treatment to support their child’s healing and recovery.
This service supports children/youth and families to:
Understand how trauma has affected their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relationships.
Build practical skills to cope with difficult emotions, manage stress, and support healing.
Talk about traumatic experiences in a safe, supportive way that reduces distress and helps them move forward.
